  • 1. General Information

    Where is Hanbury Memorial Hall?
    Hanbury Memorial Hall is on Anslow Road, Hanbury, Staffordshire, DE13 8TJ.

    Is there parking?

    There is a tarmacked car park with space for approximately 60 vehicles.

    Can I access the Hall by public transport?

    Hanbury Memorial Hall is located in a rural village setting, and public transport options are limited.

    The nearest towns with regular bus and rail connections are Burton upon Trent and Lichfield. From there, visitors would typically need to take a taxi for the final part of the journey.

    We recommend checking current bus and train services in advance when planning your visit.

    Is the hall accessible?
    Yes, the hall is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilet facilities. There are on-site baby-changing facilities.

    What facilities are available?

    • Large main hall with raised stage
    • Smaller function/meeting room with bar access

    Do you have WiFi?

    The Hall does not have publicly available WiFi.

    What is the hall capacity?

    • Main hall: up to 150 seated for performances, or about 120 for seated dinners
    • Combined capacity across spaces: around 200

    How do I check availability?
    Availability is by prior arrangement—please contact the Hall directly. You can also view the What’s On page which shows confirmed bookings.

    Can I make changes to my booking?
    Yes – please contact the booking secretary as soon as possible to discuss any changes.

    Is there a minimum booking time or deposit?
    Deposit and minimum hire requirements will be confirmed when you enquire.

    What types of events can I hold?

    • Private parties and celebrations
    • Meetings and classes
    • Concerts and performances
    • Community or charity events
    • Fitness or dance classes

    Can I serve alcohol?

    Yes, alcohol may be served, but arrangements must be made in advance.

    Is there a bar available?

    Yes — the hall has a bar area managed separately. Contact the Hall to arrange bar service.

    Are there any restrictions?

    • The event must be as described at the time of booking
    • Events must finish by [insert time, e.g., 11:00 pm]
    • Keep noise within reasonable levels
    • Follow all hall safety guidelines 
  • 5. Facilities & Equipment

    Is there a stage and sound system?

    Yes — the hall has a stage, sound system, and microphones, located to the right of the stage.

    What kitchen facilities are available?

    • Range cooker and oven
    • Microwave
    • Hot water urn (we recommend turning on 30 mins before required for use)
    • Fridge
    • Kettles
    • Small number of plates, cups and saucers

    Is crockery, cutlery, or glasses included?

    • Basic crockery is provided and must be washed and returned
    • Additional cutlery, glasses, or items may be hired on request from the WI (please include this in your booking enquiry for further details)
    • Alternatively, you may provide your own for your event 
  • 6. Before You Arrive

    What do I need to bring for my event?

    • Tea towels
    • Washing-up liquid and scourers
    • Bin liners
    • Any extra cooking utensils (including sharp knives) 
    • Decorations or extra equipment if required 
  • 7. During & After Your Hire

    What are my responsibilities during the hire?

    • Supervise your event
    • Familiarise yourself with and follow all safety guidelines
    • Name a responsible person for fire safety during your event
    • Respect the hall and surrounding property

    What do I need to do before leaving?

    Please see this guide for a ful l checklist of how to reset the Hall after your event. As a quick summary guide:

    • Return furniture to original positions
    • Clean the kitchen and wash all items
    • Remove all rubbish
    • Switch off lights
    • Lock all doors and windows
